YOUTH
CYO
This program is for students in grades 9-12. It generally
meets on Sunday evenings at 6:00 pm. Its programs consist of fellowship,
youth Masses, outings, service activities and athletic activities. In addition
to Sunday evening meetings, youth attend the annual diocesan youth convention,
run a Halloween Carnival, a city-wide live Stations of Cross in Holy Week, and
during the summer attend a Catholic Work Camp, a Springhill leadership week,
and make a mission trip to Saltillo (the
diocesan mission in Mexico).
The youth coordinator is Peggy Olivero. The officers for 2007-2008 are:

JUNIOR CYO
This program targets students at St. Mary’s who are in
seventh and eight grades. The program includes service activities, serving in
liturgical roles on a monthly basis at Mass, outings etc. This group usually
meets after the Saturday vigil Mass twice each month. The coordinator 2007-2008
is Cathy Roboski. The officers
for 2007-2008 are:

Programs and plans are drawn up at meetings.
HOLY HANDS
This is a service group for 5th and 6th graders,
and they meet monthly on the second Sunday at approximately 4:00 p.m.
(depending on the activity). One of their service activities is to visit
a nursing home once a month. Mary Kay Doherty and Maria Smilo are the
adult coordinators.
*All children attend Cathedral School
and have undergone Protection of Children training at school. Adults who
have been helpers include: Janee McKinney, Shannon McCalip, Anna
Devening, Dorothy Garrity, and Kay Taylor.
